Typical day

A Typical Volunteering Week
MONDAY : SETTING PRIORITIES!
Monday is the day to plan and prepare all activities that will occur during the week!
This means we organize needs, priorities, teams, goals and appropriate training to be ready for the coming challenges. Logistics and hygiene related to food are very important and everybody must work on this! We end the day by a climbing workshop.

TUESDAY: FOODBANK DAY!
The first thing in the morning is to prepare the area and disinfect the floor, tables and fridges which will come in contact with the food; inventory control and separate the food that expires soon. We distribute the food to the local families and once finished we disinfect everything a second time. We usually end the day by a meditation workshop.

WEDNESDAY: SUPPORTING BABIES SUPPLIES!
Wednesday is the day dedicated to prepare the foodbank 100% dedicated to babies in which the volunteers lead logistics regarding the age, diet, particularities of each baby (0-3 years old).
This is also the day they receive a training session and language class. At the end of the daythey attend a yoga workshop.

THURSDAY: URBAN ORGANIC FARMING!
Thursday we go to our organic urban farm in the mountains close to the NGO to share
community life and work together on alimentary sovereignty and new models of self Organization.

FRIDAY: TRANSGENERATIONAL COMMITMENT!
Friday is the day dedicated to elderly people in which the volunteers lead activities to be done with the person we attend. In the afternoon we have a weekly meeting in order to plan the next week and also participate to the emotional intelligence workshop.

WEEK-ENDS are off to fully enjoy Barcelona!

Weekends are perfect for discovering Barcelona!

Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of the Catalonia region in Spain, is known for its Renaissance art and architecture. It is the second most populated city in Spain and renowned for its high quality of life.

Known for its Mediterranean tapas and historic streets, it has neighborhoods such as Gràcia, Gótico, and Born that stand out for their narrow streets steeped in history.

Barcelona has a Mediterranean climate, with a warm summer ideal for enjoying its Mediterranean beaches. Within the city and just 20 minutes away by public transportation,  Bogatell, Mar Bella, and Barceloneta beaches are privileged spots to cool off and spend a typical afternoon in Barcelona.

For the weekend, Costa Brava, just an hour and a half from the city of Barcelona by train, offers beautiful and authentic small seaside towns (Cadaqués, Platja d’Aro, Tossa de Mar, etc.). The volunteer work will be focused in the Nou Barris neighborhood, characterized by its immigrant population, many of whom are in vulnerable situations.
